H2Africa is a non-profit organization devoted to enhancing the lives of the people of Africa. We started out as a group of friends who wanted to make a difference in the world by helping others. In 2008, we formed the club H2Africa at Fairfield Warde High School in Connecticut, and began planning our first project. Our goal is to to help solve the water crisis in Africa by raising funds to install PlayPumps, (playpumps.org).
One PlayPump provides 2,500 people with clean drinking water and costs $14,000.
H2Africa is committed to raising funds to bring life sustaining water to African families, and wants to get the word out that donations are needed. By talking with community leaders, area organizations and fellow students via public speaking engagements, social and online media, and old-fashioned word-of-mouth, we aim to promote this vital cause and get others involved.
Nestle Corporation, after learning about our plan to help solve the water crisis in Africa, was so moved that they decided to help. The company has agreed to match H2Africa’s efforts by donating $7,000, thus cutting the funding needed for one PlayPump in half.
H2Africa invites you to help too. Together, we can make a difference in so many people’s lives.
